The All Star list is out recognizing the Monroe County League players for the 2009 season. Senior midfielders Kyle Van Thof (Penfield) and Drew Coholan (Irondequoit) and junior attackmen Brendan Saylor (Fairport) and Jack Hinderland were selected as USLAcrosse All Americans.

Penfield ended their league season first in Monroe County Division I with a 9-1 record (15-1 overall). Seeded third in the Class A tournament the Patriots defeated sixth seeded Schroeder 6-5 in overtime in the quarterfinals, but then lost to second seeded Irondequoit in the semifinals to finish as seeded.

With a major change in the NYS Class alignments, Canandaigua and Irondequoit move to Class B, making that class much more challenging, while maintaining that exciting rivalry. Geneva and Aquinas, who have, in the past, elected to move up from Class C, now like the idea of taking on Penn Yan instead of CA and IQ.
